10 Hangover Cures Absolutely Perfect For Freshers' Week

Big one last night? We feel ya. Here are 10 of the best hangover cures to help you survive Freshers’ Week.

We all overdo it every now and then, and Freshers is definitely one of those times. The hangover is pretty much inevitable, but there are some things that can give you a helping hand to get through the day.

Check out our top hangover cures that’ll ease the pain the next day.

1. REHYDRATE

Ok, this is an obvious one, but genuinely you have to stay hydrated on a night out to avoid a hangover. If you don’t want to alternate between alcoholic and soft drinks on a night out then make sure you drink some water before heading to bed and keep a glass close so you can hydrate yourself the second you wake up.

2. TAKE A SHOT

No, we’re not talking hair of the dog. Wheatgrass is a natural detoxifier that can cleanse the body's blood and water, hydrating and energising the cells. Try a shot of wheatgrass to get your bod back in gear.

3. GOT MILK?

Don’t worry, we’re not going to tell you to not drink if you don’t want to (although that’s definitely the only real cure) but prevention is second best, surely? Drink a glass of milk or have a greasy meal to line the stomach before going hard on the drink.

4. GREEN TEA

In China if you’re hungover you drink strong green tea. Green tea is full of antioxidants and caffeine to help perk you right back up.

5. SPORTS DRINKS

Sports drinks can rehydrate you after a heavy night out, but can also replace lost electrolytes in your system, so grab that Lucozade and down it FRESHAAA.

6. COCONUT WATER

Same as sports drinks, but with even more added electrolytes (if you can stomach the taste of it).

7. LIGHT EXERCISE

This is probably the last thing you wanted to hear when you’ve got a killer hangover, but a little bit of exercise can do you a world of good. Get your trainers on and sweat out those toxins.

8. KOMBUCHA

Much like green tea, Kombucha is rich in antioxidants and helps the liver detox. It’s also a rich source of probiotics, which settle the stomach and aid digestion and inflammation. Perfect for anyone who’s feeling a little iffy the morning after the night before.

9. NAP

Sometimes the only cure is to sleep until it gets better by itself.

10. MUSTARD OR WASABI BATH

If all else fails, adding wasabi or mustard powder to a bath can help draw the toxins out your body… Although, I for one, would rather bear through the hangover if I’m totally honest with you. This is weird af.
