When was last time you washed your makeup brushes?
… Yeahhhhhh. 😰We don’t blame you, because seriously who on earth wants to do it? Such a chore. But it’s one that’s worth taking the time to do.
Despite the fact it’s unhygienic to use dirty brushes on your precious face, it can also cause your skin a lot of issues and nobody wants that. So, here’s the low down on cleaning your makeup brushes to keep your skin happy.
WHEN TO CLEAN YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES
Foundation brushes need to washed at least once every week to prevent buildup of product. You don’t want anything that touches your skin every day to be covered in bacteria – your brushes can never be too clean.
Eyeshadow brushes should be washed thoroughly at least twice a month to help prevent any infections or nasties heading towards your eyeballs. All other brushes can be left to be washed about once a month.

You can use a brush cleanser that’s specifically made for cleaning your brushes, or you could try the Zoella technique of using a little bit of baby shampoo to get rid of all the germs but also make sure the soap doesn’t irritate your face at all.
