The super kind folks at Japan Centre sent us over some tasty treats to try out this week from their fabulous Pop Culture Set and their Nestlé KitKat Mini – Ultimate Elegance Set With Gift Bag.
We got a few different bits, so we thought we’d give you the low down on them.
The Ultimate Elegance Set gives you a chance to try out all sorts of weird and wonderful Kit Kat flavours such as wasabi and azuki sandwich. The set comes in an adorable kimono bag, so makes the most wonderful gift for a friend.
These were definitely a favourite at the Student Beans office. With quirky flavours like Uji Matcha, Wasabi and Sweet Potato Kit Kats, these went down a treat. We also had tons of fun guessing each flavour, so we reckon these are the perfect gift for a chocolate lover.
The Pop Culture Set allows you to fully immerse yourself into the world of modern Japan. Eat and drink these delicious snacks whilst watching your favourite anime, reading some manga or watching a hilarious Japanese TV show. Whether you like sweet or savoury this pack of snacks will satisfy any peckish pop culture fan.

Ahhh Japanese summer days. We remember them like they were just a dream that we had before waking up in rainy old Britain. This Hatakosen’s ramune soda will help transport you there in mind at least. The bubblegum flavour and cool, traditional style soft drink bottle with glass marble stopper make this the perfect summer refreshment.
A snack pack of rice crackers. These light, crispy ‘senbei’ called Happy Turn are the perfect mid afternoon snack to help you power through that essay.
What’s better than pretzel sticks? Pretzel sticks that taste like PIZZA. These savoury snacks are flavoured with deliciously salty, tomato seasoning. These are great to have as a snack to help you get through the day without ordering a giant takeaway pizza at 11am.
These crispy snacks are covered in spicy wasabi. Wasabi is a form of the horseradish plant grown in Japan. These tasty treats are extremely moreish, so be aware that you may eat the entire packet in one sitting, but you know… Peas are good for you, right?
These bad boys are so very sour. Don’t be fooled by the adorable, cutesie packaging, these soft gums really pack a punch.
These are kind of like lemonade flavoured Refreshers. Each of the pieces of candy has boiled sweet pieces sprinkled within!
We love these adorable strawberry-filled biscuits. Each of the Koala’s March biscuits are printed with a cute koala image making them both adorable and delicious.
Let’s face it, instant noodles are truly the only things that keep students alive. These Japanese noodles are much more delicious than your bog-standard cuppa and really raise the game in regards to flavour.
