Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2016: Can't-Miss Comedy Shows

Anyone who has heard of Edinburgh Fringe Festival knows how much of a logistical nightmare it can be. Since when did comedy get so stressful? Since Edinburgh Fringe Festival, apparently.

So, we’ve put together a list of our top five top comedy acts to make sure your Fringe experience is full of laughs and fun times, as it should be!

ED GAMBLE: LAWMAN

The actor-comedian who stars in E4’s hilarious mockumentary ‘Almost Royal’ is showing off his stand-up skills at Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year. As you’d expect from a man who has freshly hit his thirties, Ed Gamble’s talking about all the annoying rules that come with love and adulting.

SOFIE HAGEN: SHIMMER SHATTER

Danish funny girl Sofie Hagen is back again after taking home the Best Newcomer prize at last year’s Fringe. Expect good things, lots of chuckles and even more WestLife talk and stalk. We hope Brian Fadden isn’t in Edinburgh this year, or do we? We can’t decide which would be more hysterical.

ANDREW BRIDGE: IT'S TIME FOR "AART" WITH MIKEY

A Kiwi with a top knot and a beard. Andrew Bridge’s character Mikey is the existential hipster personified. At this creative workshop, you and your friends will be pissing yourself with laughter at Mikey’s drawings and rationales, as he reminds you of every too cool kid you’ve ever rolled your eyes at.

AMANDA & MADI: BUFFERING

Amanda Litherland and Madeleine Maxwell-Libby are two acts fresh from the Soho Theatre Young Company. In their hour-long show they manage to fit in stand-up, characters, mime and music, all while they rant about vlogging, single-malt, and pick-up artistry, which if you ask  just a fancy way of saying how to be a creep.

ADAM ROWE: BITTERSWEET LITTLE LIES

The 24-year-old Liverpool comedian not so long ago traded studying Maths at university for the comedy circuit and it’s paying off. Tickets to Adam Rowe’s show are selling thick and fast. Get ready for some seriously good chat about lying, honesty, compulsions and consequences.
