How To Nap Like A Pro (and feel better for it) 😴
Taking a nap may seem like a somewhat infantile thing to do, but research has shown napping can improve your mood and maybe even help reduce your blood pressure.
"Midday sleep appears to lower blood pressure levels at the same magnitude as other lifestyle changes," said Dr. Manolis Kallistratos, a cardiologist at Asklepieion General Hospital in Voula, Greece.
So, don’t beat yourself up if you doze off during that boring lecture this afternoon. (I mean don’t do that, but you know - it has its benefits). The perfect time to nap is between 1-3pm when our bods are naturally getting a little bit fed up with the day. 👀
Don’t nap for too long though, about 20 mins is enough to give you a lil energy boost and prevent your body from going into deep sleep mode. Anything longer and you might wake up feeling groggier than before. Nightmare.
It might be hard to find the time to take a nap during the day if you’re busy with essays and lectures, but even just sitting with your eyes closed for 10 mins can help keep you at your best.
There you have it. Remember, you regret every nap you didn’t take. 😴
