How To Make The Easiest Ever Poached Egg 🍳

We all love brunch. We can’t help it. If someone offers us an avo toast you know we’re gonna give up home ownership for it. 🙌

But there is one thing that absolutely smashes a brunch menu out the park and THAT is a poached egg. Gone are the days where poached eggs were just for fancy places with chefs who know some crazy whirling water trick to get your eggs poached to perfection.

It’s time we introduced you to a life changing hack. Microwave poached eggs. Whether it’s to top your english muffins, or take your stirfry to the next level, you can make yourself the perfect poached egg in mins. 🙌

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Egg (Whodda thunk?)

  • Microwave-safe mug or glass 

  • A lil salt n pepper to season

METHOD

  1. Fill the mug with half a cup of water

  2. Crack ya egg in there 🐣

  3. Put a plate on top of the mug, so that it is completely covered

  4. Microwave for 30-60 seconds until the egg white is cooked, but the yolk still has that delicious runny centre

  5. Season with salt and pepper (or whatever you fancy - I’m partial to a little hot sauce myself)

And there you have it. No faffing around with whirlwind pan water or using that old trick your dad swears by, microwave poached egg. Done.
