McDonald's Is Trialling 'Blueberry McGriddles' Breakfast Sandwiches
If you’ve never had a McGriddle sandwich before, I’m telling you that you haven’t lived.
The perfect combination of sweet and savoury, a standard McGriddle sandwich consists of bacon, a scrambled egg, and American cheese served on a small maple-flavoured pancake.
The morning treat is currently only available in the USA, Canada, Turkey, Poland, Japan, Guatemala, Mexico, the Philippines and New Zealand (for a limited time only).
Now though, the Golden Arches are upping their breakie game in Washington, D.C., with the introduction of three different blueberry McGriddle sandwiches. Oh boy.
Here are the three new fruity items in all their glory…

Speaking on the new trial, Carol Martino, the brand’s culinary innovation spokesperson, had this to say:
“The Blueberry McGriddles® breakfast sandwich will satisfy both the sweet and savory senses. The flavors from the real blueberries balanced with the sweet taste of maple reminds me of the blueberry pancakes my mother used to make for us growing up.
“Imagine that combined with your choice of sizzling breakfast sausage or thick-cut bacon nestled under a creamy slice of American cheese and fluffy egg. It’s everything you love about breakfast in one sandwich.”
Unfortunately for fans of the new breakfast item, McDonald’s did not confirm when the limited run will end - nor did they comment on what would happen once the test over. Fast food lovers will simply have to wait and see whether this blueberry concoction catches on and becomes a menu staple.
If you’re a Student Beans user in the UK however you can get a free Cheeseburger, Mayo Chicken or McFlurry Original when you order an Extra Value or Wrap Meal. Jackpot much?
