The Spookiest Things To Check Out At Alton Towers Scarefest

Spooky season is on its way.

Hear us out…Halloween is one of the best holidays of the year. If you’re looking for a spectacularly spooky way to spend it, then the legendary Scarefest at Alton Towers Resort is back and promises to be scarier than ever.

Not only is Scarefest open to hours past the standard closing time meaning you can check out your fave ride in the dark, they also have a selection of horrifically terrifying live-action mazes for you to try out. If you’re brave enough of course.

The Attic is the newest live-action maze at this years Scarefest. You may want to hold onto your friends tightly as you’ll be venturing to discover the ghost of ‘The Governess’ who is out to claim her next victim. Local legend says that she wants to take the spirits of the living…so we’re sure this one isn’t for the faint-hearted.

A unique virus that was being tested has gone wrong and now a group of test subjects are loose and infected with the deadly infection. Your mission is simple, find the vaccination and cure them. But we’d watch out as you probably don’t want to catch it either and we’re sure this one won’t have a happy ending.

Do you ever get the feeling that something is crawling on you even when it isn’t? Well, Sub Species is a live-action maze where that feeling may just become all too real…

Your team will be split up as you race to escape a deep underground post-apocalyptic sewer. The route you choose is up to you but be warned creatures will touch you. If you’re jumpy it may be best to sit this one out.

What could be more relaxing than a trip down the ocean on a pirate boat? Well, that’s not what you’re going to get when you board the infamous ghost ship ‘The Mutiny’. This live-action maze is also new for this year and will take you on a journey through the ocean surrounded by ghost pirates and have you coming face to face with sea Sirens and the Kraken, a monster which legend has it is only a myth.

Want to uncover the legend of the Skin Snatchers? We’re not going to lie, this one sounds scary af. You’ll be taken to a mine which apparently holds a dark secret. The former residents of the mine were a family of village outcasts nicknamed the ‘Skin Snatchers’ and their secrets are going to come out. You’re warned to remember ‘Beauty is only skin deep’, we’re terrified.

The Alton Towers Dungeon is one of the spookiest dungeons in the country. The Dungeon is scary enough as it is, but Scarefest means it’s about to get even more extreme. From a Plague Doctor and a legendary witch, this promises to be a scream-worthy experience and is for the bravest of the brave to try out.

If you’re feeling brave get your student tickets to Scarefest here for just £25 an be prepared for the worst…..
