Trends To Try This Autumn To Make You The Best Dressed On Campus
Layering season is here.
Ah autumn, the season where we all find ourselves looking out of the window every morning, checking the weather forecast and still wondering just what to wear.
Is it cold outside? It’s sunny so does that mean no coats? Will it rain today? Can I still get away with wearing shorts? Honestly, who knows. But with this in mind, the key to nailing autumn is by layering up so you can remove said layers if the sun starts to come out later on in the day.
With the start of a new uni year; as appealing as staying in bed sounds, you should be trying to go to all of your lectures (most of them at least). If you’re stuck wondering just what to wear we’ve got you covered with the best trends that will show your mates you’re totally on top of the style game.
THE LINED JACKET
This is a classic that should be a staple in everyone’s wardrobe. The lined jacket is the perfect cross between a thin spring jacket and a big winter sweatshirt. When it’s still too warm to crack out your big winter coats the fluffy lining is a great extra layer without overheating when the sun comes out, perfect.
THE 1/4 ZIP SWEATSHIRT
This trend is everywhere and it’s a great casual look because it’s ideal for layering. If you’re really unsure on what the weather’s going to be like you can wear a T-Shirt or crop top underneath and simply remove your sweatshirt if needed. Plus, they’re super comfortable to snuggle up in when you’re stuck in an old lecture building without any heating.
This is by no means a new trend, but definitely one that will never go out of style. If your mum’s always banging on at you to wear a scarf to cover your neck and prevent you from getting a cold (or the dreaded freshers flu) this is a great way to keep in the warmth. Stock up on turtlenecks and match them with anything and everything in your wardrobe for a comfy and practical look.
